
The Department of Geology, Kent State University, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning in August 2009. We seek candidates interested in any of the broad range of water related studies such as environmental or organic geochemistry; geomicrobiology; chemistry of water-sediment interactions; and trace-element or major-element geochemistry. The Department has 13 full-time faculty members, 60-70 undergraduates and 35 graduate students, and is well-equipped for both applied and basic geologic research in hydrology, hydrogeology, oceanography, limnology, aqueous geochemistry, and engineering geology. The successful candidate is expected to establish an extramurally funded research program and exhibit a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education.
