Megan Sever

Megan Sever is managing editor of EARTH magazine. She has been with EARTH and its predecessor, Geotimes, since 2003. She was a reporter for three years and has been managing editor ever since, including seeing the magazine through its exciting relaunch in 2008. She loves working with the science community and enjoys learning something new every day — despite how cliché that sounds.
Megan has a background in American Literature, Writing and Geology, although she has learned more geology in her years working on the magazine than she ever did in school (no slight to her great teachers). Her favorite topics to write about are natural hazards, climate issues, politics and energy. When she’s not at work, Megan can be found outside: running, hiking, skiing, and playing golf and softball. Email: msever@earthmagazine.org
